The Presidential Office Building is approximately 140 meters long and 85 meters wide. In addition to the central tower, the building features two guard towers at its sides and towers at each of the four corners. The structure is composed of four elongated sections forming an enclosed, elongated rectangle. The main entrance, Entrance Hall, and Reception Hall divide the structure along the east-west axis, separating the middle section into two courtyards, north and south. The building's overall shape resembles the character for “sun” (日), which serves practical purposes – its axial layout and octagonal chambers enhance the building's stability and earthquake resistance, critical in seismically active Taiwan.
